Rochdale 10K

Well done to Jorden Burke on his 10th Overall and Jo Adamson on her 2nd overall Lady in the Rochdale 10K. We had a great turnout by the Harriers with Category wins for Jo Bishop (LV35), Jo Adamson (LV45), Fiona Bolton (LV65), Christine Eckersley (LV65). Second Cat places for Jorden Burke (MV40), Burke Emma Thetford (LV40), Anthony Walsh (MV55), Rose Rowson (LV65), Ruth Hare (LV70), and 3rd Cat Places for Andy Smith (MV40), Jen Laptew (LV40), Teresa Hollins (LV65).


Eddie’s Revenge Fell Race ’23

This years’ Eddie’s got off to a good start with a large field in which the Harriers were well represented. Conditions were damp underfoot following the rain in the afternoon and overcast. This meant for some difficult descents but overall fast running on the better drained areas of the course.
First home for Middleton was Louise Gray in her first Fell Race – what an introduction!
Second home was Anthony Walsh, followed by Janine Jordan in a strong third position.
Congratulations to John Hall on winning the MV75 class!


Race The Train 2023

A good number of Harriers turned out for this tough 10 and a bit trail run from Bury to Rawtenstall, taking the hot and humid conditions in their stride. Excellent results all round with Jorden Burke getting second overall and Matty Lever and Andy Smith getting top 10 places. For a full report click on the link below.


Walsh Two Lads Fell Race

Clear sunny condition and a little bit of heat for our runners on this local classic. A good turn out had a full men’s team and 2 ladies teams taking on the Hills above Horwich. With Category wins for John Hall and Ruth Hare, this was a night to remember.

Calderdale Way Relay 2023

Welcome to Greetland, home of the Calderdale Way Relay. this years action saw our Harriers take on the hills and farmland of West Yorkshire, as well as a few other clubs in this iconic 50 Mile relay race. For a race report and images click the button below.


Blackpool Promenade 10 miler

Great Results at Blackpool for the Harriers with a great 2nd Overall Lady for Louise Gray and 4th Overall Male for Jorden Burke and excellent running by fellow Harriers: Matty Lever, Tony Campbell and Rob Bishop who joined Jorden and Louise in the top 25. A special bonus for Jorden and Karen Hallett for winning their age categories!
It wouldn’t be a club race with shouting out the PBs, and today’s were Jorden Burke, Matty Lever (New),Tony Campbell (New), Louise Gray (New), Jess Hanrahan (New), Emma Thetford (New), Dawn Anderson (New), Lisa Grimshaw (New).

The latest road/trail championship race had it all – thrills, spills and great running on the hottest day of the year. And yes a trip to Greetland


The Coiners Fell Race

Excellent weather provided good running conditions and great views of the Pennines for the Harriers in the 3rd race in the Run The Moors Fell Grand Prix on Sunday. This race provided a little bit of everything – moorland tracks, tough climbs and a a woodland stretch of low branches and unavoidable mud.
First Middleton runner home was Martha Urwin, followed by Janine Jordan and seconds later John Hall.


Cowm Reservoir 5K Race #1

The Harriers shone at Cowm Reservoir in the first 5K of the season


Middleton Harriers C25K is back for 2023

We are excited to announce the next Couch to 5km training programme will start on Monday 15th May 2023 at 7:30 pm at Heaton Park’s South carpark off Sheepfoot Lane M25 4SW.

The 10-week training plan designed for beginners will gradually see increases in distance.

The Parkrun Graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday 22nd July 2023.


Manchester Marathon

Brun Valley 10K Trail

The Green Machines excelled on the undulating Brun Valley Course, with ecellent performances and category wins for Fiona Bolton, John Hall and Christine Eckersley. Results and photos can be founf on the Brun Valley Button and the Road Championship results can be found on the Road Camps button.


5 Trigs Fell Race

Excellent running conditions greeted our intrepid Fell runners on Saturday as they took on the 5 Trigs FR – 18 miles(+?) of challenging climbs, map reading and a little bit of rock climbing (who built the trig on a pinnacle?). Wilmslow Workout!

Middleton Harriers took on a surprising challenging course with a cool wind and were rewarded with good times an a number of PBs. 1st Harrier home was Jorden Burke in 77:18 – new PB at this distance from Tony Campbell (87:43) and Matty Lever (88:44 PB). Jo Adamson was our 1st Lady home in 97:15 from Amanda McCartney (1:49:17) and Louise Gray (1:48:36 PB)

High Legh Highlights

Great weather and a fast course course meant good times for Middleton Harriers in the High Legh 10K. The Race results and photos can be found by clicking on the High Legh 10K button. To see the updated Championship table click on the Road Championship button.


And The Winners Are…

A massive congratulations to Jo Adamson and Jorden Burke for winning this seasons Cross Country Championship. Both runners have led the championship from the first Gun . The Cross Country season ended today with the 5th Manchester Area XC on the challenging Heaton Park course.


Harriers Multi-Task

A mega weekend of Events saw our intrepid Green Machine compete in Cross Country, Road, and Fell Race as the Road Championship and the Fell Season got under way.

First out of the blocks was the final match in the SELCC XC League at Heaton Park on Saturday Afternoon.


The Trotters 5 Trail Race

Well done to everyone who turned out to Smithills country park for the first road race of the season.

Fiona Bolton was 1st FV65 and Christine Eversley 1st FV75 and Tony Campbell on 7th Overall.

Brilliant running from Jorden Burke and Leon Wint at the National Cross Country Championships at Bolesworth on Saturday – They’ve done us proud!


Janet Hunt achieves 100

From Couch 2 5k to 100 Park runs Janet achieves a whole milestone completing her 100th Parkrun on Saturday 18th February.

Janet shows no sign of stopping as she is busy training for the Manchester Marathon taking place on Sunday 23rd April.

Well done Janet Hunt on achieving 100 Park Runs – Looking forward to your marathon!


Top Running at SELCC (Heaton Park)

Great results at Heaton Park XC on Saturday saw Christine Eckersley win her Age Category in the Ladies Senior Race and Jorden Burke get a 9th Overall (and 2nd Cat) in the Men’s Senior Race. Well done to everyone who took part!

Middleton Harriers Presentation Evening

On Saturday 29th January the men and women of Middleton Harriers hung up their training gear for an evening of food, fun, and celebration.

The Annual Road Race Presentation evening was hosted by Manchester Golf Club.
