Wednesday evening saw Middleton Harriers forsake their regular training session to take on race 9 of the Road and Trail Championship. The Black Knight Charge is a classic 6 miles trail race held every July in the scenic Daisy Nook Country Park. It makes maximum use of fast canal towpaths, rigorous climbs, meadow land paths and technical woodland descents – something for everyone!.
The weather was in stark contrast to the unrelenting rain of the previous time time we participated, with dry, hot conditions necessitating water stops at crucial points.
First home for the men was Leon Wint with a great run ahead of Leo Cain in second place from brother Paul Cain in third.
The ladies were led home by Jess Hanrahan from Amy Jones in second and Kyrinda Carter-Moore in third.
