On Sunday 21st September a group of Harriers and friends tested our brains on the orienteering course at Heaton Park. Orienteering involves using a map to find as many control points as possible in a fixed time. In Heaton Park, these are in the form of wooden posts which are spread throughout the park. Some are easier to find than others and orienteers can choose from a selection of courses graded for distance and difficulty. It was a beautiful crisp autumn day and we all learned something new and challenged ourselves. Well done to everyone who came and had a go and many thanks to John Cox for your organisation, maps and expertise. We There will be more events to follow over the coming months.
