Calderdale Way Relay

On Sunday 18th May 2025, Middleton Harriers took part in the 40th Calderdale Way Relay. This landmark anniversary saw 100 teams compete in the UK’s biggest off-road relay event, running a challenging 50+ mile course through the scenic, rugged Calderdale countryside.

Middleton Harriers took to the field two full teams, each made up of six pairs of runners who demonstrated teamwork and endurance throughout all six demanding legs of the race.

Leg 4: Ashley McCabe & Aaron Marsh – 1:32:57 (32nd)

Leg 5: Warren Goldie & Paul Whiteman – 1:13:02 (33rd)

Leg 6: Paul Quine & Matthew Hampson – (Time not provided)

Middleton Harriers B Team – Position: 88th | Time: 11:20:22

Leg 1: Mark Lawson & Mary Murphy – 2:12:13 (84th)

Leg 2: Helen Mutch & Jessica Hanrahan – 1:41:13 (74th)

Leg 3: Adam Spiller & Adrian Bowcock – 1:29:35 (88th)

Leg 4: Anthony Walsh & Martha Urwin – 1:53:54 (70th)

Leg 5: Craig Sutherland & Catherine Murphy – 1:45:23 (87th)

Leg 6: Louise Butterworth & Yolanda Farrell – 2:18:04 (88th)

This year also marked a course change between Legs 5 and 6, adding an extra element of complexity for teams to navigate.
