Sunshine Over Pendle

The the spring sun shone on Middleton Harriers as they took part in the first fell race of the 2025 Run The Moors Fell Grand Prix. Conditions were ideal, with generally dry conditions making for a fast climb to the plateau and first checkpoint. With excellent visibility giving wonderful views the 9.7 mile route gently descends towards Churn Clough Reservoir where the route takes the runners in a generally westward direction to the last big climb at Wood House Dole. From here it’s a dash over muddy fields to the final (very muddy) descent to Lower Ogden Res. and the short road stretch to the finish.

Jo Adamson, making a welcome return to the fells led the Harriers home, followed by Tony Walsh. Adam Spiller finished in a well deserved third in his first fell race for Middleton Harriers. Second Lady home was Sandra McGrail, who also made her debut as a film star in Olga Wiggins video report, from Catherine Murphy and Craig Sutherland. Overall an excellent start to the season with all eyes now on The Wardle Skyline!
