On 22nd November, several Harriers attended the Run the Moors Grand Prix presentation night at Bamford bowling club. Each year, a variety of fell races are chosen to be in the championship and 8 local clubs compete.

After a Q&A session with Clayton-Le-Moors’ Chris Holdsworth (who has represented GB on the Long Distance Mountain Running Championships) and a pie and pea supper, the awards were presented.

There were excellent results this year with Middleton receiving a bumper crop of trophies. Jo Bishop won the Female V35 category – and in her first fell season too! Cathie Murphy was 3rd FV55 and Sandra McGrail was 3rd FV60. Middleton also placed second in the ladies team table.

There were great performances from Middleton’s men too. John Hall won the MV75 category with John Cox in 2nd place. John Weaver was 2nd MV40.

Dawn Anderson, Rob Bishop, Karen Hallet, Janine Jordan, Aaron Marsh, Ashley McCabe and Tony Walsh all completed at least 5 races and were presented with an engraved pint glass.
