Middleton Harriers Shine in Busy Weekend of Races
This weekend marked an action-packed series of races for the Middleton Harriers, with members competing in a variety of events across the region.
First up was the highly anticipated opening cross-country race of the season, held at Heaton Park on Saturday. The event saw a fantastic turnout from the club. The course didn’t deter the Harriers, who delivered strong performances across all categories. Congratulations to all who represented the club, setting a solid foundation for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, some of our endurance athletes took on the gruelling Manchester Backyard Ultra. This unique race format tests both physical and mental endurance, with participants running a 4.167-mile loop every hour until only one runner remains. Several Middleton Harriers pushed themselves to their limits, completing multiple loops and showing incredible resilience. A special shout out to those who achieved personal bests in this ultra-endurance challenge!
Finally, on Sunday, it was great to see Middleton Harriers out in force again at the Manchester Half Marathon, with even more outstanding performances delivering personal bests and strong finishing times.
A huge congratulations to everyone who participated this weekend, whether racing or cheering on your fellow Harriers it was fantastic to see so many Harriers supporting one another throughout the weekend.
