Saturday saw a good turnout by our runners at Heaton Park at the first MACC XC race of the season. The ladies headed out in good weather but were quickly engulfed in a squally shower that reminded everyone that winter was on it’s way. The going underfoor remained firm and good times were recorded. First home for the ladies was Jo Bishop from XC first timers Helen Mutch and Debbie Sheen in third with Karen Hallett in a strong 4th. With only 6 seconds separating 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions this could be an intersting season. The men were led home by Andy Ndlovu, who has had a strong start to the season, ahead of Paul Cain in second and Stephen Lowe in 3rd. Both ladies and mens teams had good tournouts and were well up in their respective leagues. This has the makings of a good season!
