A unique event where teams of four runners contest a relay over two road legs of 3 miles and two fell legs of 2.5 miles. This format was originally designed to bring road and fell runners together in an event where they could appreciate each others skills and meet for a pint afterwards. Still one of the best days in the calendar and the sun always seems to shine. Road legs are two laps of a hilly circuit. Fell leg is a single lap of an undulating course over Saddleworth Moor.
This year there were two differences to previous year events – firstly Run the Moors Fell Grand Prix were awarding a trophy to the fastest Team from the Championship and secondly, due to licensing difficulties, the event was restricted to 4 laps of Fell, which gave our road runners a great opportunity to experience the delights of the moors – and they done brilliant!

This year we entered two teams = Team A, comprising: Craig Sutherland, Louise Butterworth, John Cox, Cathie Murphy, and Team B: John Weaver, Janine Jordan, Jess Hanrahan, and Mark Lawson.
Both teams had good runs in cool, damp conditions and well done to all the runners for adapting to the challenge of extra fell legs.
