This years’ Eddie’s got off to a good start with a large field in which the Harriers were well represented. Conditions were overcast and damp underfoot following the rain in the afternoon. This meant for some difficult descents, particularly on the descent to the bottom quarry, but overall fast running on the better drained areas of the course.
Race winner was Rob James 24:56 (Royton Road Runners), followed by Lewis Hinchcliffe 26:16 (Saddleworth Runners) in second, with Dave Parton 27:37 (Rochdale Harriers) third.
First Lady home was Jenny Brown 31:22 (Rochdale Harriers), from Josephine Wells 31:47 (Rossendale), with Bridget Lancashire 33:45 (Saddleworth) in third.
